DO I HAVE TO GO TO A PARTNER UNIVERSITY IN THE SECOND YEAR OF MY BACHELOR DEGREE? DO I HAVE TO PAY THE PARTNER UNIVERSITY AS WELL OR ONLY MY TUITION AT ESDES?
The departure to a partner university for students in the Bachelor program is in the second semester of the second year. Concerning fees, transportation and accommodation, please contact the international department for more information: esdes.rel.int@univ-catholyon.fr
WORK-STUDY (French program)
UNTIL WHAT DATE CAN I FIND A COMPANY FOR MY WORK-STUDY PROGRAM?
You have until September 30th to find a company for your work-study program.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T FIND A COMPANY FOR MY APPRENTICESHIP?
There are two solutions:
- SWITCH to a traditional program
- APPLY to the admissions department for a deferral if I am a new student. If I am an ESDES student, I make a request to the pedagogical department.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT
WHAT TO DO AFTER RECEIVING MY CERTIFICATE OF ENROLLMENT, IF I AM A FOREIGN NATIONAL STUDENT LIVING OUTSIDE OF FRANCE?
If a visa is required, fill in the "I am accepted" section. Make sure to mention that Esdes is a recognized school in the Etudes En France (EEF) platform under the name Institut Catholique de Lyon Esdes, receive the Prior Agreement, and then prepare the visa application dossier (fill in "I am accepted" CF procedure + Visa + Pastel link).
WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED FOR MY VISA APPLICATION?
Proof of studies (educational aspect), proof of financial resources, proof of accommodation. Make the application on the France visa website https://france-visas.gouv.fr/web/france-visas/etudiant.
WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF VISA REFUSAL?
In case of refusal, there are two options. Either reapply by correcting the reason for visa denial or make a gracious appeal to the Nantes court.
IS THE PAID DEPOSIT REFUNDABLE?
The deposit is refundable in two cases:
- the student does not obtain a visa,
- the student does not obtain the diploma for the current year.

A VLTS visa long stay valuing residence permit "student".
