As part of the Confluence Sciences and Humanities Research Center of the Catholic University of Lyon, research at Esdes brings together more than forty faculty members, all holding PhD degrees.
From various countries worldwide, faculty members collaborate around common themes of ethics, responsibility and sustainability. Their multidisciplinary approach spans a broad range of domains, addressing the managerial, social and economic challenges of today’s business world.
The extensive expertise and global outlook of our faculty members enable them to conduct high quality and innovative research. This empowers them to support companies and organizations navigating constant changes and new challenges, and eventually create tangible impact on the wider society.
With numerous participations in significant projects supported by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and the European Union, they maintain strong relationships with various territorial stakeholders.
What are the research groups at Esdes?
Divided into three research areas, each faculty member at Esdes specializes in a specific field: With numerous participations in significant projects supported by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and the European Union, they maintain strong relationships with various partners.
- The first area, “Social responsibility and ethical transformation of organizations,” focuses on analyzing and theorizing existing and future models of social responsibility. Its researchers conduct studies aiming at proposing broader perspectives (individual, collective, organizational) to address this phenomenon.
- The second area is developed around “Decision sciences for green finance and innovation”. Its researchers develop and model decision making for issues related to green finance and innovations that contribute to environmental, social, and economic sustainability.
- The third area, “Sustainable marketing and consumer insights“, studies the opportunities and implications of consumption, markets and new technologies for the management of organizations.
