POLICY
Three criteria guide the work of our faculty members : academic excellence, societal impacts, and the responsibility of researchers.
Academic excellence
Research at Esdes must be of high quality, both disciplinary and interdisciplinary. The School strongly encourages its faculty to publish in impactful journals within a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
Impact
Research conducted at Esdes must create impact in multiple ways:
- Academic Impact: This can be measured through the number of citations of our faculty’s publications and the quality of their publication outlets. It is also seen through faculty participation on editorial boards and their coordination of special issues in scientific journals.
- Student Community Impact: Research is an inherent dimension of our training programs. Our faculty publish textbooks, book chapters and case studies to transfer their knowledge and expertise to students. Students learn to conduct research and link it to managerial issues through their final-year thesis. Faculty and students may publish together in professional or scientific journals.
- Corporate World Impact: Our research is relevant to managerial matters of companies. We use our competence and expertise to assist them in addressing specific issues. This impact is demonstrated by our research contracts, research chairs and our training programs for executives.
- Public Authorities Impact: Besides assisting companies, our research also serves governmental and non-governmental organizations. Through funded research programs, we contribute to supporting decision-makers in developing public policies and providing solutions for social and societal challenges.
- General Public Impact: We aim to disseminate our research to promote the widespread circulation of knowledge and scientific culture. We publish in the general press and give talks on public radio or television.
Researcher's responsibility
Researchers at Esdes are responsible for their research and have a responsibility as subjects of study. Despite their diverse areas of expertise, the overarching theme that unites them is Corporate Social Responsibility. They are accountable for their research and ensure its integrity. Esdes also encourages diversity and inclusion among its faculty who come from diverse backgrounds.
